Your Home Away From Home—
No Matter Where You Dance
Country Dance Travelers connects dancers, travelers, and local communities across the country through a shared love of country dance, music, and meaningful connections.
Country Dance Travelers (CDT) is a nonprofit organization built to connect dancers both at home and on the road. Whether you’re visiting a new city for a weekend, attending an event across state lines, or supporting your local dance community, CDT helps create connections that make every dance floor feel familiar.
Our goal is simple: when you see our logo, you know there’s a friendly face nearby.
CDT serves as the umbrella organization for state chapters, each representing and strengthening their own local dance communities while remaining connected to a larger national network.
What began as a small group of dedicated dancers with a shared goal of exploring dance halls and building connections quickly grew into something much bigger.
A core group of approximately twelve dancers, affectionately known as the “Dirty Dozen,” began traveling, supporting one another, and forming relationships with dancers in other cities and states. Those connections eventually evolved into Texas Dance Travelers and later expanded into Country Dance Travelers, creating a larger network that supports dancers nationwide.
Today, CDT continues to grow by creating opportunities for people to travel, connect, and build lasting friendships through dance.
